"THE ONLY THING BETTER THAN SINGING IS MORE SINGING."

MORE THAN JUST A CHOIR
The Hidden Voices Choir was created in 2014 to enable everyone to... well, find their Hidden Voice!

Experienced or not, we welcome anyone who would love to give it a go even if they think they aren’t  good enough. We have been there ourselves, been too intimidated and full of self doubt to try out a choir - surely we are nowhere near good enough to be singing in public and might as well save us the embarassment, right?

No way!! As our Choir grows, we are continuously inspired by our founding purpose: to provide a supportive, fun environment for those who want to sing! It's great to see what's possible when you follow your heart - singing as a choir is uplifting, joyful and inspirational.

The other reason for creating this choir is that we are passionate about making a difference in the world. Whilst we enjoy ourselves and learn and develop we are not only aware of those less fortunate, but also how humbling and fulfilling it is to GIVE and SHARE. We actively support charitable causes, grassroots projects and fundraising events to help others - and we do that with anything from local intimate concerts (check out Glam Sound in our Gallery) to Group Tandem Skydives (but don’t worry - Skydiving isn’t a compulsory requirement).

Put simply, we are more than a Choir and would love you be part of our little community.

Derek Carden

Musical Director

Derek started his musical career as a cathedral chorister (Rochester) then read music at Nottingham University and the London Opera Centre.

He specialises in conducting, accompanying opera and church music, on organ or piano, giving organ recitals, and in teaching.  He has appeared throughout the UK, Europe and the US. He has recorded an orchestral CD with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, featuring the late Sir Patrick Moore.

We are proud to say we have introduced Derek to contemporary Pop and Rock music which he now secretly enjoys almost as much as Beethoven and Verdi.
